Axminster

Axminster is a machine woven carpet that is generally, although not exclusively, made from wool rich blends. Most Axminster carpets are patterned because they offer such great pattern definition and capacity of colours. There thick, soft cut pile is synonymous with quality, durability and luxury. We at Homesmiths offer Axminster with upto 12 colours in each carpet in 100% Wool or in a combination with Nylon. The Wool used is either 100% British Wool or Fine New Zealand Wool. Each individual yarn that goes to into the making of the carpet is selected by a gripper and woven with the weft, because of this process, the Axminster carpet provides extreme durability luxury.

Materials used

Tencel & viscose

Tencel is made from the cellulose found in raw wood pulp, it is then converted into fabric through the use of nanotechnology. Tencel fibers are also distinguished by their exceptional dye affinity, which allowed for bright and vivid colors to come through, As a natural fibre, it has the ability to provide carpets with brilliant colors and silky sheen. Once blended with New Zealand Wool this material leaves a lasting impression on both the carpet as well as the aesthetics of the room.

Wool

All our wool carpets are made using the Nighest quality 100% British Wool or Semi Worsted Fine New Zealand Wool. Our standard fris/s as a pive pile starting from 3mm and going p to 17mm deep and has luxurious velvet y feell. Utmost Care is taken to make sure all the wool we use in a particular carpet comes from a single lot. Wool carpets are offered in both cut pile and loop pile options. At Homesmiths Wool carpets are also combined with other materials like silk and polyester to create distinct design patters.

Silk

Homesmiths offers the Silk collection for Hand Tufted Carpets. The carpets are designed to retain all the delicate qualities of natural silk, with additional characteristics that provide superior performance and a longer life. We use natural Chinese Silk in all our hand tufted silk carpets thus providing excellent shine and feel. The carpet colour changes with the pile direction and light intensity giving it a silky look, and because it is colorfast it may be dyed to any colour or hue with no risk of fading overtime. Silk collection features antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, allowing the carpet to work as a natural humidity regulator, and enhances clean air.
